It comes as no surprise that the non-resident deer and elk tags in Idaho are sold out. Non-resident tags went on sale December 1st 2023 for the 2024 hunting seasons. There were long queues and glitchy software systems as expected. We heard from some lucky Oregon residents that they were able to get a tag for a wilderness unit deer hunt.

For those not so fortunate, they must now look to other States and perhaps their home state for hunting opportunities. With the rise in popularity of big game hunting since the pandemic, it seems that the competition for tags and animals will remain high for 2024.
