
Happy New Years! With January many newcomers to outdoor adventure, particularly hunting, are left getting cabin fever. And with the lack of snow this year in the west, many of us are not getting too amped up about skiing as we have in past years to get use through the winter. Here are some opportunities still available.
Chukar Partridge Hunting in January
Several states with Chukar hunting have seasons that extend into January. These include, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. Also, Montana has a partridge season that extends to January 10th this year. Check out these opportunities for a great excuse to get out of the house. You’ll most likely be pleased to find a general lack of hunting pressure during this time of year. While birds may be harder to get, it will be an experience you’ll probably not forget.
Southwest Quail Hunting in January
Quail hunting opportunities are also still available in January in some western states and most southwestern states. A trip to some warmer weather might be just what the doctor ordered this time of year. Check out Gambles, Mearns, and Scaled quail hunting opportunities in Arizona and New Mexico.
